Art, to me, is life..
I was born in Orlando, Fl. in 1983. I graduated from Boone High School in 2001 and a month later joined the United States Marine Corps as Combat Journalist (Print/Broadcast). I was then stationed in Camp Pendleton, Ca. and worked for the base newspaper, “The Scout,” and base television station, “KPEN TV”.
I was deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom: Kuwait for the initial war in 2003 and Ar Ramadi, Iraq in 2004. Upon returning from these deployments, I was tired of reporting military propaganda and decided 4 years of faithful service was enough. Those deployments changed my whole perspective about life. I am grateful for these experiences because it taught me what I don't want to be. In 2005, I was honorably discharged and headed back to Orlando.
After returning home and dropping the Marine Corps facade, I began to really embrace the little things that make life beautiful. I love color, I love surrealism, I love energy. I am fascinated by the subconscious mind. I use art and color to heal my subconscious. I enjoy painting repetitious shapes because it helps me to sink into a meditative state, full of self-reflection and personal growth. I hope others who view this can get the same vibe as well.
Good Karma for all.
