LOB Angeles! Sports Blog by: HankaliciousREX

Greetings and salutations fellow sports fanatics. The blog was delayed a few days this week simply because I HAD to wait until after last night's NBA games were completed. How could I pass up the opportunity to include both the Celtics and the Heat?? The answer is I couldn't. That being said, a quick recap from my weekend NFL predictions. I went 2-2 this weekend. The Bengals allowed Arian Foster to rush for 150+ yards and 2 scores so no surprise they got wooped. Meanwhile the Falcons just straight up screwed the pooch not being able to muster a field goal never mind an actual touchdown in the process of getting shalacked by the Giants. As I predicted, the Saints beat the Lions in a shootout, and Big Ben and Co. in Shittsburgh got Tebowed BIGTIME. At least the golden boy Tom Brady will end Tebowmania this weekend in Foxboro. But forget all that, lets talk about last night's NBA action.

LA Clippers Miami Heat NBABoston Celtics Dallas Mavericks NBA

What a great set of games last night! This is what the NBA is all about. The Celtics squared off against the reigning NBA champion Mavericks in Boston, and then the Miami Heat went into the Staples Center and went to war with the L.A. Clippers and CP3. Both games were nail biters, being decided in the finals seconds of regulation and overtime. All in all just some quality NBA action.

Celtics Heat

In the first game, my boys, the Celtics, came up painfully short in the closing seconds and lost to the Mavs 90-85. The C's were down 3 points with seconds left on the clock, ran a perfectly executed out of bounds play to Ray Allen for what would have been a wide open 3 pointer (which he most certainly would have knocked down), but Jesus Shuttlesworth just straight fumbled the pass out of bounds, and theres your ballgame. It was a slow, sloppy game from start to finish. We looked old, tired, and sluggish. The Mavs looked soft and unmotivated. The C's got poor production from Pierce and Allen (16 points combined), while Rondo shined with 24 points and 7 assists. For the Mavs, Jason "Jet" Terry came off the bench and led their team scoring with 18 points, hitting a few clutch 3's late in the fourth quarter. This game could have gone either way. Regardless, the Celtics need a serious infusion of youth and energy if they want to make any noise come playoff time. The Mavericks need to take care of the ball better, but they should be OK in a wild western conference.

Clippers Heat

The late game, between the Heat and the Clippers was THE definition of entertainment. Face paced, up and down basketball. Ally oops, crazy passes, great blocks, big 3's. All in all just a masterpiece of a game, capped off with the Heat losing in overtime due in large part to Lebrick's inability to be clutch and missing a SHIT TON of free throws down the stretch. LeBron went for 23 points and 13 boards in the loss, while Wade added a mere 17. Miami's biggest problem is they have FAR too much faith in Mario Chalmers. This guy is an average player at best, but allowing him to 13 shots is a tad over the top for me. Pretty sure D-Wade and Tyrannosaurus Bosh coulda got more out of some of those attempts. Now, for LOB Angeles, as they were coined last night, Blake Griffin did his thing going for 20 points and 12 boards, while CP3 shined with 27 points, 13 assist, and 6 rebounds. The Clippers are far and away my second favorite team in the league. They are going to make a lot of noise in the western conference. Don't be surprised to see them come Finals time.
