Case Closed

The story of Case Closed begins with a country boy from West Virginia. His family moved to Florida when he was 15 years old. There, he would fall in love with the beaches and the fast-paced major cities that surrounded them. Music had always been a passion of his, but Case did not take it seriously until he stopped playing football after his freshman year in college at North Carolina Wesleyan. Once his sights were no longer set on the field, Case could focus all his time on the stage. He quickly moved back to Florida and prepared to make the jump over to the Orlando area so he could pursue music full-time. Currently Mr. Closed resides in Orlando, and is making incredible strides at becoming a true representative of the city that is known more for its amusement parks than its music. He still makes trips up to Daytona Beach whenever he has the chance, and makes it a point to stop by the Dessert Inn during Spring Break. His songs range from portraying the paradise of Florida’s beaches, the grind to make it in the competitive cities, and the rollercoaster ride that people call “relationships.” Case Closed is never afraid to speak his mind on hot topic political issues from gay marriage to the legalization of marijuana. You will want to stay tuned for future videos where these, and many more subjects, will be discussed. With a lyrical poise that is not found in most southern artists and an energy that the stage can barely contain, Case Closed looks to keep our attention for many years to come.

Kap Kallous -- Over Rap Music

“The rap game is really too easy right now,” Orlando-based emcee KaP comments during a rare moment of downtime. “Go on myspace and see how many hip hop pages there are now. Everyone raps- people look at it like it’s that easy. My music is something that’ll make them go back home and be like, ‘I’m taking this too seriously because this cat is better than me.’” Disillusioned and bored with a genre gone stale, the man is Over.Rap.Music, as the title of his latest release indicates. KaP is the type of artist whose talent and versatility is rivaled only by his intense workethic. Since dropping out of school to pursue music full-time, his sharp-tongued, in-yourface lyricism has reared its head on both solo releases and through the work of his former group Caveman Theory, whose album CMJ Top 10 album The Stone Quartet was deemed a successor to the late ‘90s backpack scene by OhWord.com. KaP has also collaborated with a veritable ‘Who’s Who’ of the underground scene, including C-Rayz Walz, Mood, and L.E.G.A.C.Y. (Justus League). A gifted freestylist and live performer, KaP has toured the country and performed with Joell Ortiz, Murs, Boot Camp Clik, Jean Grae, and Sean Price, to name a few. His raw skills on stage have made him the winner of two Lounge Battle performance titles and one two-on-two Battle with his rhyme partner and ex-Caveman comrade Redd Simpkins. With a European-release EP, collaborative EP with Nonsense Records artist Hakim Tafari, and a full-length solo album, I Should Have Kept My Mouth Shut due in 2008, it looks like KaP soon won’t have much to complain about in the current state of affairs in rap music- he will define it.

NOC -- No Ordinary Cats -- Orlando Hip Hop

NOC MUSIC by SkinnyBuddha
In 2005, K.D. and J.O. met at a student housing basketball court near the University of Central Florida in Orlando. K.D., who was working with another group at the time, built a bond with J.O. Then J.O. began writing rhymes for the first time on what would become “I Do This for Fun Volume 1”, a February 2006 release. Across town, K Sos was on a year and a half hiatus from writing music when he came across the mix tape through a mutual friend. He instantly took an interest in the duo. He immediately phoned his friend to get J.O.’s phone number and demanded that they record. They would set up a session for that Monday where K Sos met K.D. for the first time. Meanwhile K Sos discovered what would become the groups 4th and final member, Rams who were neighbors at a student housing complex. Rams, an Atlanta native came to Florida originally to pursue an education at Full Sail but ending up working at Disney World to gain instate tuition. One of K Sos’s new roommates suggested that he take Rams to his next recording session and that he was very serious about music. Having never heard any of Rams work, K Sos said he would take Rams to the session. Their first session came on a Wednesday in the middle of April. After 6 months of recording together, an album was the only likely result if these sessions were to continue. The four began experiment with various genres of music to create a multidimensional listener experience. In March of 2007 things started to fall apart for the group. Disagreements about the direction and goals of the album, and various outside distractions left the N.O.C. Presents…DINOSAUR a near impossible task. In frustration, Rams moved back to Atlanta and began working with PaRock Productions on Rams Presents…Jukebox Bully (A collection now expected to be released in fall of 2009). Back in Orlando, K Sos knew it would take a miracle to get the group back together. So a miracle was conceived. From the end of July until the second week in September, he would lock himself in his room for as many as 14 hours a day working on new songs eventually titled K Sos Presents…the PRESPORT Mixtape. Eighteen songs were recorded. Thirteen would end up in the final cut including two late sessions with Rams, three tracks featuring J.O. and vocal work orchestrated by K.D. K Sos & K.D. mixed the record in less than five hours. The PRESPORT then caught the eye of the CEO of Skinny Buddha Productions (Dport). From there the excitement escalated and they decided to take this project to the next level. Within the next few months they had produced and distributed over 4000 copies of the PreSport nationwide; not to mention, digital downloads from SkinnyBuddha.com and other sites. The almost instant success of the mix tape had reenergized the group. Rams returned to Florida on two occasions to finish the album. K Sos and Dport proceeded to create Skinny Buddha Records LLC. K Sos & K.D. landed a spot on Orlando’s 106.7 FM to promote the album on the Johnny & Jayde Morning Show. Several beats from PaRock Productions crept onto the album tracklist until it was eventually decided that the album would be mixed and mastered at their studio in Atlanta. The end result, N.O.C. Presents…DINOSAUR. N.O.C. also known as No Ordinary Cats, chose this name to symbolize their desire to stand apart from mainstream music that chooses to dumb down its audience. Their mission is to revitalize the idea of intellectually stimulating music. N.O.C. music spans an eclectic range of sounds that strive to galvanize all types of listeners as they provided insightful glimpses into four unique human characters. N.O.C. and Skinny Buddha Records believe in the freedom to be unique and the idea of paving your own path to success. Rams is returning to Florida to reunite with the group and prepare for their album release show. They plan to begin shooting music videos for the album as they prepare to get a fall tour together. N.O.C. Presents…DINOSAUR is slated for July 4th 2009. The wait is over!
