Independent artist Shannon Dooley is preparing to release one of her most powerful tracks yet. This October, she’ll share Babyyyy with the world—a song that has lived in her vault for nearly a year, waiting for the right moment to surface.

“This has been one of the hardest songs for me to release,” Shannon admits. “It holds a weight unlike anything else I’ve written. Babyyyy came out of a toxic, addictive relationship—one I tried to break free from, yet couldn’t fully escape. Writing it shook me to my core. More than any other song, it demanded raw honesty, deep vulnerability, and the courage to finally let it go.”

“Being an independent artist is both beautiful and brutal,” she says. “I write and produce most of my music myself, and at times it feels like I’m creating in complete isolation—pouring my emotions into songs that are as much therapy as they are art. Some pieces are nearly impossible to let go of, while others may never see the light of day. Releasing music often feels like dropping a needle into a haystack, hoping it will be discovered.”
